Akasaka is a fashionable residential and nightlife neighborhood located in Chiyoda-ku. The area appeals to businessmen or government officers working nearby (the Diet is about 10 minutes away on foot in Nagatacho(pics)). A landmark not to miss is the Sannouhieda Jinja (shrine), located 300 meters south-east of the Akasaka-mitsuke Station.

Some charms are being burned. This is part of the shinto-buddhist tradition in Japan - as more and more charms are given to the temple by the faithful, the temple becomes overcrowded. The temple master disposes of the charms periodically in this way. (666.44 KB) Photo viewed 1300 times
