In the north of Minato-ku in Japan^(pics), Aoyama is one of the top Tokyo neighborhoods^(pics) to live in. Strategically located between Shibuya^(pics) and the emperor's palace, Aoyama has backalleys with often excellent urbanism, and the residences are mostly mansions (mansion refers to apartment blocks made in concrete to distinguish them from the apato which are made in wood).

The views from the apartments range from good to spectacular, offering some great shots of the Minato-ku skyscrapers.

Another advantage of Aoyama Itchome is its close proximity to Roppongi^(pics) which abounds with great restaurants, bars, dancing clubs and hmm, some red-light establishments.

Many hotels in Japan will charge almost two times more for double occupancy rather than single occupancy even if the size of the room is the same. It defies all known free market rules :D. However, things seem to be changing for the better these days with some hotels (such as the [[Toyoko Inn]]) charging a more reasonable 15-20% extra for the second person. How to get to Aoyama Neighborhood

Get off at Aoyama-itchome Station on the Toei Oedo Line, Tokyo Metro Ginza Line, or Tokyo Metro Hanzomon Line. Also nearby the Nogizaka Station on the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line.
